Tracy Murrell
As an artist, curator and non-profit arts organization consultant, Tracy Murrell has been involved in the arts her entire life. A graduate of Centenary College, she has appeared in solo and group exhibitions, and assisted Louis Delsarte in the creation of the 125-foot mural “Dreams, Visions & Change” honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Tracy Murrell serves as the 2011-2013 president of African Americans for the Arts and is a member of Fine Arts Atelier under the direction of renowned artist Michael David. Currently she is creating and producing work in her studio inspired by vintage photographs and the work of Jackie Ormes, the African American female cartoonist, while working as the curator for Hammonds House Museum and consulting with the National Black Arts Festival.
